Directions

Driving from the Bronx:

  • From I-95, the Hutchinson River Parkway, or Pelham Parkway...
  • Go to the intersection of Shore Road & City Island Road (near Pelham Bay Park World War Memorial).
  • Turn east onto City Island Road.
  • Continue east through the traffic circle towards City Island. (Do not veer right into Rodmans Neck or left towards Orchard Beach.)
  • Go over the City Island Bridge.
  • Veer right & proceed south on City Island Avenue about 0.7 miles.
  • Make a left, east onto Fordham Street.
  • Proceed about 2 blocks to 190 Fordham Street, The City Island Nautical Museum, on your right.
  • The City Island Community Center is located at the side entrance on the west side of the building, at the lower level.
  • The parking lot is for residents only. Please look for street parking.


By Public Transportation:

  • Take the IRT #6 Lexington Line to Pelham Bay Park. (It's the end of the line so you can't get lost!)
  • At the bottom of the stairs is the #29 Bus to City Island.
  • The Bus will cross the bridge and head south on City Island Avenue. Get off at Fordham Street.
  • Cross City Island Avenue going east. Go past the City Island Diner, and walk two long blocks to 190 Fordham Street on your right.
  • Turn right before the building and go down path. Look for the sign to the City Island Community Center on your left.
